1. What This Application Does
We use an internal automated tool that connects to the Meta Graph API on behalf of our own Facebook Page and linked Instagram Business account. Its sole purpose is to publish our product listings from our WooCommerce store as posts and photos to our own Facebook Page and Instagram Business account.
This application is not a public-facing service. It is used exclusively by us to manage our own Facebook Page and Instagram Business account.
2. Information We Access via Meta API
Our application requests the following Meta API permissions:
- pages_show_list — to identify which Facebook Page to post to
- pages_read_engagement — to read basic Page metadata needed for posting
- pages_manage_posts — to publish product content to our Facebook Page feed
- instagram_basic — to read basic information about our linked Instagram Business account
- instagram_content_publish — to publish product images and captions to our Instagram Business account
- business_management — required by certain Meta Graph API endpoints for business account operations
All access is limited to our own accounts. We do not access any other user’s Facebook or Instagram account, followers, messages, analytics, or any data beyond what is listed above.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
This application does not:
- Collect, store, or process personal data from visitors to our website
- Collect data from any Facebook or Instagram user other than our own business accounts
- Share any data with third parties
- Use cookies or tracking technologies related to this application
- Sell, rent, or trade any data
4. How We Use Meta API Data
The only data accessed through the Meta Graph API is used exclusively to:
- Identify the destination Facebook Page for new posts
- Identify the linked Instagram Business account for new posts
- Publish product images and descriptions as posts to our own Facebook Page
- Publish product images and captions to our own Instagram Business account
We do not use this data for any other purpose, and we do not retain any Meta API response data beyond what is needed for the immediate posting operation.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
We process data solely on the basis of our legitimate interest in managing our own business’s social media presence. No personal data belonging to other individuals is processed by this application.
6. Data Storage and Security
Our Meta access tokens are stored securely on our private server and are never exposed publicly. Access is restricted to our internal automation system only.
We take reasonable precautions to protect our credentials. Access tokens are refreshed on a regular schedule and are not stored in any publicly accessible location. If you believe there has been a security issue, please contact us immediately.
7. Data Retention
We do not retain personal data from the Meta API. API response data (such as Page IDs and access tokens) is used transiently for publishing operations and is not archived or stored in logs beyond what is required for system operation.
8. User Rights
Because this application does not collect personal data from any individuals other than our own business accounts, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold personal data about you, please contact us and we will respond promptly.
